_Boy Scouts of America Climbing Merit Badge Program

Finally get that coveted Climbing Merit Badge with First Ascent Mountain School! Through our 2-day Merit Badge Program, scouts will be immersed in the world of rock climbing and  will learn and practice everything required to achieve their Climbing Merit Badge. Not only does this program meet the requirements of the BSA, it also goes a step further and gives each scout a more in-depth look at the sport of rock climbing and makes sure they have all the skills necessary to climb SAFELY and successfully for the years to come.

This program is set in the beautiful Red Rocks Canyon Open Space and is taught by one of our, AMGA trained, Certified Merit Badge Counselors. For the best possible learning experience, this program consists of 2 full-days(6 hours each) set in an outdoor setting. At the conclusion of the program each scout who has met the BSA requirements will receive a signature for their Climbing Merit Badge application.

In compliance with the BSA's Youth Protection policies, one scout parent must be present at all times during the program. Any parent present during the program will have the opportunity to learn and participate along-side the scouts both days, if they so desire!

First Ascent provides all technical gear necessary and all of our guides carry extra water, snacks and sunscreen.
